2005
Famous Dave's Paul Metsa, Famous Dave's music director, and well known blues singer, booked
us in here. It went GREAT. WE loved it and we played a lot of old blues standards
and quite a few new original blues tunes. Like Winston says, "Blues it the last refuge
for the formerly hip."
2005
Fargo, ND
Legend's Ballroom
Two Sellouts!! We were blown away with the turnout.
Dick Dunkirk (The Shadows) promoted us here. He promised a great crowd, he
was right!! There were a lot of old friends and faces that we recognized. RD Knudson
was there both nights and had some nice words to say about "Moby" Dick Dunkirk.

June 18, 2005
Ortonville, MN
Sioux Historic Pavilion
Heartwarming is the way to describe this date. The crowd wasn't great, but the
people were.
It was a fundraiser for the loved ones of The "RedBull" 151st, many of who's
relatives are stationed in Iraq.
God Bless!!
We will do it again next year or sooner, and fill this beautiful ballroom.
July 8, 2005
Barrett Lakeside Pavilion
Wow!! Great night for us. We saw so many people that we recognized and some
that we actually had met in the 60's or 70's. There were people there from Fergus
Falls, Appleton, Henning, Appleton, Detroit Lakes, Glenwood, Alexandria, Appleton,
Hoffman, Elbow Lake, Appleton and many more. Different members of the Uglies
talked to many people during the night.
Hey we're getting better. That was our 6th job since getting back together and some
of the songs we played we were happy with. hahahahaha. We laid some eggs here
and there, but in general we did OK in our minds. Hope you felt that way too? We
REALLY hope you feel that way so you come back next year.
Thanks to the city, and Tony, (he's on the city council ) that July 2nd was Unbelievable
Uglies Day!! We were surprised and touched indeed. There was a big crowd, but
we've got room for more next year, about the same time, and definitely the same place!! Barrett still rocks!!!!!
July 22, 2005
Pelican Rapids, MN
The Club
218-863-6673
Big crowd, lots of fun and fabulous burgers!! Dave Prentice was able to make that
one and that made it very special for the rest of us. He's still got it!!
THE CLUB, (supper club/ballroom) we played was 'groovy" and friendly, and 60s hip.
hahaha. There were people there who were in their 20s also. We blew them
away..... no, actually they stayed.
Included in the crowd was a woman that we later recognized as the Master of
Ceremonies at a show we did at a Minnesota fair late in the summer.
July 23, 2005
Clearbrook, MN
American Legion
All we can say is wow!! Wild and mighty crowd. We actually sounded good we
thought?
Maybe we're getting that down after 37 years??? One of "The Cornerstones" was
there and we got to chat. People from Bemidji, Thief River, Moorhead and other towns were there.
And of course Mike Gibeau was there, the heartbeat of Clearbrook for so many years.
July 30, 2005
Luverne, MN
All Class Reunion
Well.............All school reunions, must have been very small graduating classes indeed. hahaha. Beautiful ballroom and GREAT banquet food.
Super nice to us, and the room was very good acoustically. We feel a challenge on this town. The crowd was small but those that were there were very fun people. The dance floor filled when we played old R&B. We got a charge out of that, cuz Luverne, Lake Benton, Hatfield, Pipestone areas were pretty much the northern edge of the KOMA bands, like the Flippers, territory. And of course those bands played virtually all "Blues Bros" style R&B.
We want to come back for two days on Thanksgiving weekend this year. We're working on it.
August 21, 2005
Appleton, MN
Swift County Fair
SURPRISES AWAITING...SEE YOU THERE!
This one was booked at the last minute. Nice crowd, and GREAT people. We have
always considered Appleton one of your "home bases". We used to play the Swift
Co. Fair in the 60s and 70s. We saw many of the same faces, a bit weathered, but
still smiling and having fun.
Our friend Johnny Holm drove out from the Cities to watch the show, and brought
his very talented youngest daughter Jordan along.
They both ended up on stage with us after we coaxed them for an hour or more.
They talked to us about coming back next year. We're there!!!!! Don't know the date yet.
September 23, 2005
Medina, MN
Medina Entertainment Center Great dancers...!!! We appreciated seeing old friends in the crowd. Thanks for coming. We hope you enjoyed the old band travel stories..!!! Winston was in a great "storytelling" mood. Herschel found relief, and the band had a great time.
September 24, 2005
Ottertail, MN
The Local Click here for poster What can we say when fans from the 60's show up? It's such a great experience, and we never know what to expect. But when you all gathered in that big circle on the floor and starting doing cartwheels one at a time, it was awesome. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT MEMORIES. It was a fun night for us, we connected with lots of old friends, and it was great to see all of you dancing and partying the entire night...!!!
The Carlton, Badger and Herb Johnson's Barn performances were all cancelled due to a serious health issue. Our beloved bass player Dave Hoffman (Winston Fink) suffered a stroke Friday morning, October 7th.

July 8 , 2006 Barrett City Celebration
Surprises await...
You just know you're in the Lakeside Pavilion in scenic Barrett, Minnesota, because people are dancing on the first song. Not only are the people in the Barrett area the kind of people who come to this historic pavilion with one goal in mind.. dancing, they also get to enjoying another one of life's great pleasures - watching the sunset over the lake as the dancing begins. Beautiful!!
If you've never been to the Barrett Lakeside Pavilion (or England, Germany or Australia) then you're missing a beautiful Minnesota site....one the captures the beauty of living in America...!!!
Thanks to the kind folks in Barrett - Tony Ray and all - for the wonderful Tribute Card you created for everyone to sign for Dave Hoffman (aka Winston Fink). That was a wonderful thing you did for Dave and his family. Thanks to all who signed the card. Your encouraging words were greatly appreciated and received. Special thanks to Margaret Thompson for helping us do the sound check and supporting the Uglies.
(Side Note: Would that group of girls who came to the dance in the limo please return our 8 foot tall Giraffe next year...??? (HAHAHA...Unless it was those two from Phoenix.....HMMM???) Bob Eveslage (aka: Giraffe) is lost without his stuffed giraffe.
See you all back at the Lakeside Pavilion in Barrett again
next summer...!!!
Rock on and stay healthy, friends. We love you!!
